Dr. Brandon Shamblin
Last month in the midst of introducing you to our Treetop team members, Dr. Brandon brought it to our attention that he might also be someone people would also like to get to know better. We could not agree more, however, a few paragraphs would not suffice for him to fully describe his passion for pediatric dentistry, so we have his agreement to provide us with a video blog in the coming weeks to talk about how he chose dentistry and pediatrics as his field of choice.
In the meantime, because we know we have the best pediatric dentist around with the best personality and sense of humor, here is the Treetop 20 from Dr. B.
The Treetop 20:
1. Do you have kids? 3 of my own: Son-Jackson, 3yrs; Daughters-Cora & Tessa (twins) 18 months.
2. Would you like to bungee jump? I’d rather not.
3. What’s your favorite cereal? Special K Vanilla Almond, the others are garbage
4. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Their shoes. As my favorite actor says in my favorite movie: “You can tell a lot by a person’s shoes. Where they goin’……where they been. I bet if I think real real hard I can remember my first pair of shoes. They was magic shoes.”
5. Red or Pink? Blue
6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? A difficult question to answer. Are we talking about the 8 set? 16 set? If you’re asking about the 64 set you’re just getting silly. Does it have to be a primary color? Have the crayons been used? Or are they fresh out of the box, perfectly pointed with the glistening shine still present? More info needed…..
7. What was the last thing you ate? Rice crispy treat
8. Summer or winter? Summer
9. Favorite Movie? Forrest Gump, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Shawshank Redemption
10. Morning or Night? Early morning before the sun is up
11. Favorite Candy? I plead the fifth
12. Favorite TV Show? Lost, Survivorman, Modern Family
13. Favorite Holiday and Why? Easter………redeemed
14. If you could have a super power, what would it be? To numb teeth with my mind
15. If you could visit one place in the world, where would it be and why? Tahiti…..I hear the beaches are nice.
16. What was your most embarrassing hair style? Dr. Brandon has awesome hair, even the gray ones. Some would say the “part down the middle” phase should be eliminated……I’m trying to forget 7th grade all together.
17. What makes you laugh? Jokes- A horse walks into a bar and the bartender says, “Why the long face?”
18. What was your favorite thing about childhood? Riding bikes around town in the summer, forts, four-wheelers, heading home when the street lights came on, soap on the trampoline, birthday sleepovers, summer baseball, 4th of July celebration, high school football. I grew up in a small country town, slow and innocent, how I miss it.
19. Favorite song? “It is Well with My Soul”
20. Favorite thing about Treetop? If I have to work for the next 40 years, I’m determined to make it a place I look forward to Mondays as much as Fridays……and I can’t wait for Monday. Come here, we have fun. It’s not the typical dental office.
