“The face of a child says a lot, especially the mouth part.”
This was a frequent saying from my old program director (Dr. Tim Henson) when I was a pediatric dental resident in San Antonio. It reminds me of how privileged and honored I am to work with society’s greatest treasure, our children. And it’s true, children say a lot. My hope is this blog does the same.
I intend for this blog to offer a more personal insight into the world of pediatric dentistry. Insurance, fluoride, prevention, customer service, child psychology. Anything goes. Have a specific question? Let me know. Not only will you hear from me, but you’ll hear from my bride, Terry Lind. As a mother of 3 amazing children and a accountant/auditor by training, she offers multiple perspectives when it comes to health care. What does in-network provider mean? What if my child cries at his/her dental visit? How can I prevent cavities? What’s the parent’s role in ensuring a positive dental experience? We may be able to answer questions you didn’t even know you had.
The first several blogs will be addressing some of the most frequent questions I get not only regarding teeth and dentistry, but as a business owner. Why so much paperwork? Do you take my insurance? And why do doctors never run on time?
