Looking for a way to give back this holiday season? Many local families find themselves in times of need during this time of year. Consequently, local food banks also find themselves in great need during this time. SOS Food Bank in New Braunfels accepts both food and financial donations. What’s amazing is that due to the rates they are given to purchase food, the food bank can get 200 pounds of food for roughly $40.

Every family receives the “Basic Bag” of food which is
supplemented with canned goods and bakery and other
items, depending on the number of family members. The
“Basic Bag” contains frozen meats ,
1 dozen eggs, flour, rice, sugar, beans, pasta,
tomato sauce, oatmeal and peanut butter. The cost to put
together a “Basic Bag” of food is approximately
$20.00. If you would like to donate the equivalent of
a “Basic Bag” of food, you may send your check for
$20.00 to the SOS Food Bank.
